I was born in Toronto and moved to Calgary in high school; back in the 80’s. Having a passion for Art, I attended the Alberta College of Art (now the Alberta University of the Arts). The lure of the oil patch called to me and I put my art on hold.
Although I had a career in design and corporate furnishings, which allowed some creativity, I didn’t come back to painting until about 10 years ago. Since then I have been dabbling in all types of mediums (oils, acrylics, watercolours – you name it) and mostly what I create are abstract florals. I love bright colours and I LOVE pink. My Instagram link is TangledgardenArt as homage to my favourite painting of J.E.H. MacDonald’s “The Tangled Garden”.
I continue to evolve and refine my craft taking courses from painters that I admire, the internet has opened up a whole world of online training - the pandemic helped too. Unfortunately last year I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and I am just now getting back to my beloved art. During treatment I just couldn’t bring myself to paint but my mind was “swimming” with ideas and I am back painting up a storm.
I hope that my art brings a smile to your face, I to love to share it with others.
